Hoboken Facade Preservation

This project presented a unique experience in that the fabricated steel was not used for a new building, but rather to support an existing facade during demolition of the structure. A close look at the featured photo will reveal that the buildings behind the blue and white facades are in fact missing. The steel acted as a bracing system to support the facades while the rest of the structures were demolished. The newly constructed buildings were then tied into the old facades and the steel bracing was removed.
